Kukicha, or “twig tea”, is also known as bocha. It is a Japanese blend made of stems, stalks, and twigs of the tea plant. This tea often comes as part of the process of making Sencha green teas or Matcha powders and is produced in the gyokuro’s style.
Japanese Kukicha will have a flavor that is between a gyokuro green tea and a sencha green tea. It will feature a light and fresh green aroma and a light vegetal profile. Kukicha is best served hot and can be steeped several times.
