Red rooibos is made from leaves of Aspalathus linearis or red bush, grown exclusively in South Africa. This bush is used for making green and red rooibos herbal teas. The red color is a result of fermentation that fresh and chopped tea leaves undergo right after harvesting. Bushes are harvested once per year, usually in the first quarter of the year. This tea is naturally caffeine free, naturally sweet, and rich in antioxidants.
Orange is one of the most common ingredients for adding citrus flavor to tea blends, drinks and deserts, but often infamous for its bitter flavor. With juicy, sweet, and rich notes, without any trace of bitterness, Blood Orange premium loose leaf tea blend sheds a different light on blends with orange peel, showing that this citrus is much more than just a tangy common fruit.
The main ingredient of Blood Orange tea is South African red rooibos. Red rooibos or red bush tea is often compared to green tea and black tea in terms of benefits, but minus the caffeine. It contains antioxidants specific to red bush plant - aspalathin and nothofagin. Rooibos may provide antioxidant, anti inflammatory, chemoprotective, photoprotective antiviral, antidiabetic, bronchodilator and anti stress activity. Furthermore, it may help protect the skin from sagging and becoming wrinkled, reduce skin irritation and help heal wounds.
Blood Orange is a specific type of orange with intense red colored flesh. It’s slightly sweeter than the real oranges, with fuller and more intense flavor.
